Quality Control (QC) is an approach that seeks to improve quality and performance which will meet or exceed customer expectations. This can be achieved by integrating all quality-related functions and processes throughout the company. Quality Control looks at the overall quality measures used by a company including managing quality design and development, quality management and maintenance, quality improvement, and quality assurance. Quality Control takes into account all quality measures taken at all levels and involving all company employees.

Furthermore, the products is tested according to the specific application, and different test criterias need to be selected. We can refer to national standards, industry standards and international standards for testing. For example, barite for drilling mud aggravating agent application can usually be tested with reference to API standards and ISO standards. Conventional test items include density, water-soluble alkaline earth metals (in terms of calcium), 75 μm sieve residue, and so on.
